Spellora privacy policy
Spellora is a daily word puzzle for players aged 13 and over, published by Blinqdroid. This page says what information the app handles and why.
The short version
- There are no accounts. The app never asks for your name, email, age, phone number or location.
- The puzzles are played entirely on your phone. Your progress is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- The app shows ads from Google. Google's ad software collects some information to show and measure them, described below.
What stays on your phone
The grids you have played and how far you got, your stats (grids played and solved, your streak), and whether you have seen the how-to-play page. Blinqdroid cannot see any of it. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android's settings, deletes it.
If backup is switched on in your phone's settings, Android may include this saved progress in the device backup kept in your own Google account, so that it comes back when you move to a new phone. That backup is run by Android and Google, not by the app, and you can switch it off in your phone's settings.
Sharing a result
When you tap Share after a grid, the app hands a short text (the grid number, the number of checks and coloured squares, with no letters) to Android's share menu, and you choose where it goes. The app sends nothing itself.
Ads
The app shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner, an occasional full-screen ad when you move on from a finished grid, and video ads you can choose to watch to reveal a letter. Ads are the only thing the app uses the internet for.
To show and measure ads, Google's ad software in the app collects:
- your device's advertising ID, a number you can reset or delete in Android's settings;
- your IP address, from which an approximate location (such as a city or region) is worked out;
- device information, such as the model, the Android version and the language;
- how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information such as crashes of the ad software.
Google may use this to show ads based on your interests, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to detect fraud. Blinqdroid does not receive this information in a form that identifies you.

Your choices
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested. You can change your answer at any time with the "Privacy choices" button in the stats window.
- On any phone, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or turn off ad personalisation, under Settings > Privacy > Ads (the wording varies by phone).
- Playing with the internet switched off shows no ads and sends nothing.
Children
Spellora is not directed at children under 13, and Blinqdroid does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the app and you have a concern, write to the address below.
Third-party services
- Google AdMob (ads)
- Google User Messaging Platform (the consent form)
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
